It’s May Day! It feels like October here, but I am hoping that too will pass. The Husband and I are having a quiet weekend after some travels last week. I was thinking about some things I have coming up in May that I am excited about. You will definitely hear more but here are some on the thing that I have coming up in May:
Quarryman 10 Miler – May 7 – This will be my 4th Quarryman 10. The race organizers say, “Visit our community and run one of the most challenging, unique and scenic road races in the Chicago area.” What is the challenge? Big hills! For us flatlanders, this is a really hard course. It is also in the CARA circuit so it has gotten pretty competitive. There is a “King of the Hill” prize for the first hill (which you have to run up twice – gulp!) and awesome rock trophies for Age Groups and Masters. I have 3 rocks from the last three years. I hope to get another one! But if not, I will have fun trying!
Gluten Free Allergen Friendly Expo – May 15 – I won a ticket to Chicago’s Gluten Free Allergen Friendly Expo from Kayla. I saw her post last year and I was sad that I did not check it out. I don’t eat gluten free all of the time, but I love to learn about GF and allergen free products and to try news things. It will be cool to see what is new from the great vendors that will be there and to get samples to try and share. There are some Finds’ faves and some new vendors I can’t wait to meet. Stay tuned! I promise to share… but you knew that!
Brooklyn Half Marathon – May 20 – Last year, I ran the Brooklyn Half with some of my NYC (and NJ) friends. The Husband and I went to support our friend, Emily, in her first half. She did great! Here is the recap. I am excited to toe the line again with most of these ladies and to run to Coney Island. Like the NYC Half, this one never gets old.
Chicago Sweets and Snacks Show – May 24-6 – This is my third year attending the Chicago Sweets & Snacks show. In 2014, I worked with Simple Squares (recap) and in 2015, I worked with InBar (recap). This year, I scored a media pass. Cha-ching 😉 They have expanded the show this year to include even more healthy and organic snacks and tons of old faves, too! I am excited to share new finds and new products from some of Finds’ faves.
I also have some fun personal events like a bachelorette party and some great meet-ups planned. I am excited for the weather to warm up, too, and for the Green City Market to open for post Sunday and Wednesday runs! It is going to be a great month – right!?
What do you have going on in May?
