It’s Friday, so I am linking up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run for their weekly linkup. Each week they pick a theme and bloggers join in and link up. This year instead of specific themes, they are letting us be creative with broad themes for each week of the month. This is the a “free” week to write about any topic. So, I am going to tell you about our trip to the Hard Rock Cafe for the World Burger Tour (and remind you about my Hard Rock Grill Kit giveaway.)
In case you missed it in the giveaway post, Hard Rock Cafe evaluated 160 burgers around the world and picked the best ones for the special World Burger Tour menu. I was invited to check it out and The Husband said it was his turn to choose, so we went for it! Here are my top five reasons to check out the World Burger Tour at the Hard Rock Cafe based on our Chicago visit.
1. Great service. Our waitress Brittany was super friendly and helpful. She was very knowledgeable about the WBT menu and the HRC. We also chatted with the manager and operations manager. They all took great pride in the restaurant and its heritage. It was really cool to see that.
2. World Burger Tour burgers. There were four WBT burgers available at the Chicago Hard Rock Cafe. We tried the Tandoori Chicken Burger (Mumbai, India) (I ordered with no bun), the Jamaican Jerk Burger (Montego Bay, Jamaica) and The English Breakfast Burger (London, England). The Husband went with the Hard Rock Classic. The burgers were all fresh and tasty. The Tandoori Chicken Burger had a great mint sauce and fresh cucumbers. The English Breakfast Burger had an egg, bacon and sausage plus a portabello. Josh got cheese for good measure, too! He ate the WHOLE thing and it was huge. The Jamaican Jerk Burger had great seasoning, banana peppers and a tasty cream cheese sauce. All were very good combinations!
3. Special World Burger Tour cocktail menu. We tried the Sweet and Spicy and Melonpolooza. They were very good plus we got to keep the Hard Rock mason jars. The Sweet and Spicy was sweet from the Blue Curacao but had a peppery kick. It was different than the usual fruity cocktail – in a good way.
4. Great retro music and fun atmosphere. We enjoyed the atmosphere, checking out the Rock and Roll memorabilia and the awesome videos from the 80s and 90s. It was like a walk through memory lane.
5. Fun with The Husband and friends. The Husband and I checked out the World Burger Tour with Josh and Leslye. They are always game to join in the fun. We told stories about our Hard Rock Ts and experiences in the 80s, reminisced about the music and caught up on our comings and goings. We always have fun!
