I learned about ButcherBox via Twitter and then supported their Kickstarter. ButcherBox is a monthly delivery service for All Natural 100% Grass Fed Beef. The founder learned about, and tried, grass fed beef and the he wondered “why isn’t everyone eating this?” Their goal is to “make 100% grass-fed beef more accessible than ever before.” They are working with industry experts to provide the best products and a simple ordering system. They created a subscription box to quickly and easily send high quality grass fed meat “to the masses.”
ButcherBox offers 100% grass fed meat that is frozen “at the peak of freshness.” It is then shipped in a cooler with dry ice. The meat is a variety of cuts and is portioned for easy use.
I ordered this for my brother and Dan to try. My brother is a chef and has been following a paleo style diet for the last year. They were ordering meat from a similar company and agreed to give ButcherBox a try for the blog. Their initial reaction was that the meat looked great but there was a lot of excess packaging and that the individual packages needed labels. [I sent the feedback about the packaging to the team at Butcher Box and they were very receptive.]
A few hours after getting the initial photo of the ButcherBox, I got a text with a photo of some bacon that said, “their bacon cooks up nice and tasty.” They compared the prices with their current provider and they found them to be reasonably similar. They cooked through the whole box and decided to order a ButcherBox subscription at a special introductory price because of the Kickstarter campaign support. The quality and convenience won them over.
For one low rate of $129 a month, a membership to ButcherBox offers free monthly deliveries, the ability to schedule deliveries and to hold or cancel your membership at any point. You can also keep up with ButcherBox on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign and gave the perks to my brother to check out. He ordered a subscription based on the quality. All opinions are my own and those of my brother.
