We’ve had a very mild December, so it is hard to focus on the winter ahead. I know it’s coming and when it does, I will be glad that I have a stash of Pine Brothers Throat Drops. Do you remember these from when you were a kid? Well, if you were a kid between say 1870 and now, they were available.
You can find Pine Brothers in the cough drop aisle, but they are not exactly cough drops. Pine Brothers throat drops are all natural with glycerin as the active ingredient. They contain no medicine or artificial ingredients. They have “been soothing throats for 140 years.” These soft lozenges are great for sore thoats, colds and allergies and for singers, actors, speakers, or anyone that needs relief from a dry, itchy throat. They say (and I agree) that “a lot of customers like to eat them like candy whether they have a dry throat or not.”
I love the story behind these “softish” drops. They say:
“In an attempt to relieve his own sore throat, Mr. Pine, a former German confectionery maker, combined the soothing natural qualities of plant glycerin with the healing properties of gum acacia into one softish drop. By doing so, he discovered that he had created a product that could sooth and mitigate the mild discomfort of a sore throat. Add in some natural flavoring and sweetener and Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops were born. “I have discovered something,” Pine wrote, “which will give quick throat relief to thousands afflicted as I was.” He added,”Perhaps I won’t make much money out of this. But I can make people happy, and that’s more important than money.” Mr. Pine was being unduly modest, as his “discovery” would become one of the most effective, most delicious and most unique throat lozenges in the world. Nor has the recipe changed appreciably since it was first introduced to the public over 140 years ago.”
Pine Brothers Throat Drops are “softish” with a unique soft texture unlike other throat drops. They are all natural, vegan and gluten-free. They come in four flavors: Wild Cherry, Honey, Lemon Citrus and Licorice. You know I love candy. These soft drops are like solid gummies (kind of an oxymoron but bear with me) and they taste really good. My faves are Natural Honey and Lemon Citrus, but I like them all. I remember the Wild Cherry from when I was a kid. It is their most popular flavor. The throat drops are for adults and children over 3 years old and are intended to dissolve in the mouth. They come in bags and small tins. The tins are reusable and great for travel.
The nice folks at Pine Brothers have offered a 15 pack of samples of all four flavors like I received. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Winner must be a US resident, 18 years of age of older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through December 23rd. A winner will be selected and notified by December 26th.
You can find Pine Brothers in most drug stores or grocery stores, as well as on their website. You can also keep up with them and check out specials and giveaways on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Please note: I was given Pine Brothers throat drops at no cost in exchange for an honest review. The giveaway prize is furnished by Pine Brothers. I was not otherwise compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
