I tried Nola Bars in San Francisco a while back. They are grain free, gluten free and contain no soy, dairy, preservatives, added sugars or syrups. They are made with delicious whole food ingredients like nuts, coconut, chia seeds, dark chocolates, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds and more. These bars are hand crafted and made to order and then delivered fresh to you. Oh, and they taste delicious, too!
The Nola Bar was born when Jordan Porter adopted the paleo diet to combat digestive issues. She and her husband overhauled their eating habits by “eliminating disruptive grains, dairy, corn, refined sugars and legumes from our diets.” After finding limited options for baked goods with her new food choices, she took to her kitchen in search of healthy alternatives. She made a bunch of recipes and landed on one that everyone loved. A friend named her creation the Nola Bar because it was like a granola bar without the gra(in)! Clever!
I saw that they had a Kickstarter campaign to help launch a new flavor. People voted with their pledges and picked from four new potential flavors: Baked Apple, Chocolate Coconut Crunch, Baked Blueberry Spice (my fave!) and Choco-Banana Bread(less). I wanted to try them all, so I chose the sampler pack as a perk. I got three of each so I offered a sampler of one of each on Instagram. Jordan got in touch when she saw my post and said she hoped I liked them. I did! So we decided to do a giveaway once the “winner” was picked. I liked all four new options but my fave was the Baked Blueberry Spice. Meryl loved the Chocolate Coconut Crunch. The winner was… Baked Apple. Don’t worry, it’s great, too.
Jordan offered to send one lucky reader a dozen Nola Bars – 6 original (with cherries and dark chocolate – I had forgotten about the chocolate and was pleasantly surprised when I revisited original!) and 6 of the new Baked Apple. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Winner must be a US resident, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through Thursday, October 22nd and a winner will be selected and notified on Friday, October 23rd.
In the mean time, you can buy made-to- order and delivered fresh Nola Bars online. You can also keep up with The Nola Bar on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Please note: I was provided product samples in exchange for an honest review and I was not otherwise compensated for this post. I supported the Kickstarter with my own money. All opinions are my own.
