If you are looking for CBS The Talk’s Friday Finds, here is the link. I am not affiliated with CBS or The Talk, but I want to give you the info. Please enjoy this post while you are here!
As I mentioned yesterday, I was in a small funk this week. I decided to share an app that I love for pepping up and a two others that I found/heard of in case your spirits need a lift. And… thanks for all of the kind comments – they lifted my spirits and I am on the mend. 🙂
I love Karen Salmansohn’s website and her “self help for people who would not be caught dead doing self help.” I downloaded her “Instant Peptalk” app last year and I have posted many of her mini pep-talk posters since then.
Here are some of my faves from the gallery:
In describing the app, Salmansohn says: “Every day you’ll receive a message to massage your spirit–Or feel free to use my “mood” list – to find an inspiring poster that will help to heal whatever’s ailing you! I’ve also made it easy for you to share the instant peptalk love with someone you know who might need a quickie jolt of joy! Plus – there’s a super-fun feature – where you can create your own personalized motivational posters – merging my inspiring headlines with your awesome photos! Press “Surprise Me!” – and you’ll definitely feel there’s some happy order in the chaos of your life – and/or you’ll just get a good giggle.”
Here is yesterday’s peptalk (one of my faves):
What I love about this site and app are that these are not platitudes. She offers actual statements and idea that make you say “hmmm” and encourage you to act (and also to laugh!). There is also a setting for “moods” in case you need a specific lift or want to send some encouragement to a friend is a specific situation.
I just tried the poster feature where you can pair a peptalk with a photo. The app picks randomly from your photos (that yielded some funny combos) or lets you pick your own. You can then save to your camera roll, send or share. This is also great for sharing with a friend who needs a lift!
You can download the app here or check out Karen Salmanson’s website. You’ll be glad you did!
I also checked out Daily Lama. The app offers daily wisdom from some of the great thinkers of all time. It contains a wide variety of quotes to inspire you. It seems like they may not be daily any more but they are still worth checking out!
And another one for next time… This app for happy thoughts was recommended by Intuitive Eating Guru Jamie Mendell: SpiritJunkie. It got mixed reviews. Has anyone tried it?
Do you have any apps, sites or tools for daily pick me ups? Please leave them in the comments!
