I can’t believe it has already been a month since the last Ultimate Coffee Date link up! Another year is flying by. I‘m linking up again with Coco @ Running with Perseverance, Lynda @ Fitness Mom Wine Country, & Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the fourth “Ultimate Coffee Date” for 2015. What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you.
If we were having coffee together… I would tell you that after a whirlwind February and March, I will mostly be home in April and I am ecstatic. I had a blast in NYC, San Francisco and at the Phoenix Marathon, but with all of that and the 6 or 7 work trips, I was just DONE. I saw some pictures from last week’s Shamrock Shuffle and from yesterday morning and the bags under my eyes have bags under their eyes. Oy. This month, I have only 3 trips (that I know of) Dallas (work), Indy (work) and San Francisco (mix of work and fun and run – SLO Half Marathon with Erin!) The Husband has one weekend away so we will get to see each other a lot more, too. Phew.
If we were having coffee together… I would tell you that we got our reupholstered dining room chairs back after the “book club incident” and we love them. Then, I would ask you if I told you about said incident. It involves me and roasted red pepper salad dressing that I shook with the cap loose. The cap flew off and salad dressing basically ruined two of six dining room chairs whole sale! The only saving grace was that it was my house and the chairs were over 10 years old and did have some stains already (needed to be recovered.) My talented friend Ami came to the rescue and found us a great place to get them done (Jorge’s) and a great selection of fabrics to choose from. I finally was able to eat that salad dressing again. I stayed far away from the dining room!
If we were having coffee together… I would tell you about an amazing event I went to sponsored by Nike this week. It was a speed workout for the launch of the Nike Free 3.0. They hosted 4 workouts on Woodway treadmills at a beautiful spot on the lake called Queen’s Landing (right by Buckingham Fountain.) There were 15 people per session, 2 coaches and a DJ. A small shoe “store” was set up and we all got to test (and keep) the Flyknit Free 3.0s. As with all of Nike events, it was highly produced and totally awesome. We felt like celebrities. There were tons of people running by (in their Shamrock Shuffle shirts) and checking us out. The evening was beautiful and the workout was tough but pretty great (read: hard!). These Nike Frees are the best of the ones I’ve tried and I can definitely see using them for speed work this summer. The Nike Run Club will be re-launching in June so stay tuned for more information on that.
If we were having coffee together… I would tell you to that my college girlfriends and I are sadly mourning the loss of our fave spring retreat Canyon Ranch Miami. They closed. We are so sad. It has been our spring treat since our first 40th celebration a few years back. I am working on finding us a new spot – considering Miami, Charleston and Savannah (all but me live on the East coast and I have no kids so I can fly farther ;)) Any suggestions?
If we were having coffee together… I would tell you to check out this great post by Johnny Lists that my friend Kelly posted on Facebook – 20 Life Rules Everyone Should Live By. I am especially trying to do #13 – Don’t complain about something you do not need to subject yourself to.
