If you have been around here much, you may know that sometimes things just tickle me for whatever reason. Today’s finds are of that nature. The first is an awesome web page on the site Playback.fm that tells you the #1 song on your birth date. The second is a hip new company that makes witty shirts and sportswear. I am neither witty nor hip but I love my T shirt from Elle Americano and those of a certain age will know why. Yup, Playback has made me nostalgic.
Is it necessary to know the song that was #1 on your birth date? Nope. Is it fun? Yes, it was for me. If you go to this link and enter your birthday, you will know what song was number 1 on your first day of life. They also have videos – if available – and you can listen to “your” song. You can also see the song on “the day you were conceived.” I assume this is your b-day minus 9 months. I took a pass on this one. I was 6 weeks early anyway! And… well… anyway.
I had fun with this. Mine is “Family Affair” by Sly and the Family Stone. On The Husband’s, it was the appropriate “Then Came You” by Dionne Warwick and the Spinners. My oldest brother’s day yielded “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones. My youngest brother was “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men. (Yes, big age gap there!) My middle brother was “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye. My mom’s was “Moonlight Cocktail” by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. My dad’s was “I’ll Never Smile Again” by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra. Why am I telling you all of these? Well, it’s a “Family Affair” and I enjoyed the travel through memory lane.

If your birthday was January 6, 1973, the number one song was “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon. I have always loved this song. I was contacted by Chicago company, Elle Americano to check out their line of hip Ts.
