Some things are tried and true. Over 10 years ago, I tried BumbleBar’s awesome sesame based energy bars. I recently received some in one of my subscription boxes and I remembered how much I like them! I got some more at Whole Foods and then I emailed the company. Liz wrote me and she was glad that I enjoyed their bars. She also said, “something you might not know about us is that we were the first certified organic energy bar back in 1995!” I did not – did you? When I think of old school energy bars, I think of Power Bars but not things that are delicious AND made of all natural ingredients. I think these were the first food I tried with flax seeds before flax seeds were cool!
BumbleBar is “the original organic, vegan, gluten free, ethically sourced energy bar” since 1995. They are still handcrafted in small batches by a company that follows the “People, Planet, Profit” business model. People, Profit, Planet represents the “triple bottom line” of a sustainable business. They believe in developing a great environment for their employees and suppliers. They work on sustainable business practices and are focused on doing the right thing for the planet. What started as a mom’s desire to make something healthy for herself and her family has grown into this awesome business. How cool is that?
BumbleBars are delicious, nutritious, Gluten Free, ethically sourced, vegan and organic. They are high in Omega 3s and dietary fiber and have 5 – 7 grams of protein, too. These sesame based bars come in a variety of flavors. They started with Original Peanut, Amazing Almond and Chocolate Crisp. Now, they also have Lushus Lemon, Chai Almond, Classic Cashew, Mixed Nut Medley, Harvest Hazelnut, Awesome Apricot, Chunky Cherry, Chocolate Cherry, Paradise Pineapple, Chocolate Mint and Chocolate Peanut Butter. They also have a new quinoa based line called Juno Bars which I can’t wait to try.
BumbleBars now come in “Junior” sized. These 90 to 100 calorie bars are perfect to keep in your purse for when the blood sugar runs low (or for any time)! Juniors are available in the three original flavors:Â Original Peanut, Amazing Almond and Chocolate Crisp. Liz sent me a box of each of these flavor Junior bars. They also have a variety pack!
- Original Peanut – Tasty peanuts and sesame with vanilla and cinnamon in a nice chewy bar.
- Amazing Almond – Replace peanuts with almonds for another great taste.
- Chocolate Crisp – Chocolate, crisp brown rice, sesame seeds, and peanuts make another awesome combo!
I shared these with a bunch of friends and even got extra points by sharing some with a Sr. VP in my company before she headed off on a flight! Meryl and I love the Original flavor. My friend Carolyn liked that they are not too heavy. She mentioned that these are great for pre-run or workout. The Sr. VP loved them and told me she picked some up at Whole Foods! I am a huge fan of sesame and I like all three of the original flavors. If I had to pick, I would say Original is my favorite. I want to try some of the new fruity flavors, too, and the Juno Bars. Another cool thing is that you can buy variety packs on the nutty flavors, fruity flavors and original flavors on their website so that you can taste test them.
