I kicked off my training for my 15th NYC Marathon and I received a welcome little boost. Coeur Sports sent me their cute Fleet Foxes Run Shorts and matching tank. It came at the perfect moment. On Saturday, I returned from a tough 12.5 mile run at Waterfall Glen (legs like rubber) to a parcel. I ripped it open and tried it on right away. It looked so cute, and was so comfortable, that I almost wanted to go running again.
Coeur Sports Activewear “designs clothes that function beautifully & make you look & feel amazing…” They say, “Coeur is where East Coast prep meets West Coast chill, giving you stylish speed… from the heart.” Coeur Sports makes a running and triathlon apparel with a fashionable flair and great patterns. The best thing is that they have put function and form on the same plane.
I took my new gear out for a spin. Jeff was kind enough to snap some photos of me near our meet up mile marker. I ran 8+ miles on a mild morning. The clothes are comfortable and easy to wear. I had no chafing under the arms (which can happen on tanks) or from the shorts. The shorts have a nice fit and I like the length. I felt great and I looked good, too! It was a busy day on the path so I saw many friends out there which always makes for a better morning run for me. Then, I met Stacy at Elaine’s for coffee and a quick spin at Green City to grab some fruit.
The fabric is thick (it contains nylon and lycra), sweat wicking and high quality. The clothes are tagless and seamless. The shorts have a wide, comfortable patterned waistband and two (perfectly labelled) pockets–perfect for a CTA card, money, key or gel. The tank is fitted but not too tight and has the adorable foxes running rampant on the back. They also make a tank that is all patterned. I have my eye on that one.
Coeur Sports prides itself on being made “by athletes and for athletes.” I have to agree that these clothes have many of the features that I would put in myself. I love the bit of flair, too! I especially love the shorts. I know they will be in my rotation from here on out. The tank is a bit heavy of material for me for warm weather running. I think it will be great for fall racing or speedwork.
You can check out Coeur Sports online or follow them on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. They are now on my radar for sure!
