There are two new browser extensions to help you to save money while shopping automatically. Meet Honey and InvisibleHand.
Want to save money with online coupon codes without having to search? Sound too good to be true? It’s not if you use Google Chrome or Firefox. Check out Honey. This new, free browser extension searches many websites for coupon codes and then tells you how much you could save (and takes you to another site where you can save more if you’d like).
Download Honey and a small Honey “button” shows in the top right corner of your browser. Click on the Honey button on a supported online store and instantly see all the coupons and sales available for that store. If you click on the Honey button during checkout, it will automatically apply coupon codes to your shopping cart.
I searched on Amazon.com and found 7 sale codes. Unfortunately, none of them saved on what I was looking for. However, a search on Macys.com yielded a code I could use. Can’t win them all. The sale feature is still being built for some sites. Cool idea!

Next up, InvisibleHand. Their claim to fame? “It stays out of your way.” InvisibleHand remains invisible until it finds a deal on a product you’re shopping for. Then a banner displays at the top of your site. InvisibleHand also shows you the lowest price on flights, hotels & rental cars. InvisibleHand notifies you when there are lower prices available and gives you a link directly to the lowest price.
InvisibleHand offers real-time prices and cheaper travel deals. It works with Google and learns as you shop to offer you additional options and deals. Whoa!
My tests showed that this is still a work in progress, but it is a cool idea. I like the idea of a real time updated price comparison tool that does the work for me!
