I saw Perfect Bar (formerly Perfect Foods Bar) on another blog. I can’t remember which one – sorry! Then, Kimberly sent me a few to try. I wrote to the company to learn more and to see if they wanted to give readers a chance to learn more. Great news – they sent me a sampler of all of their bars PLUS they will giveaway a sampler to FOUR readers! Trust me, you want try these.
Perfect Foods is a family business run by 13 siblings. Their dad, Dr. William Keith, was a man before his time. As early as the 60s, his mantra was, “Eat right, get fit and work out.” He even partnered with fitness guru Jack LaLanne. Perfect Foods’ believes, “you are what you eat.” Dr. Keith practiced what he preached and always followed a healthy, whole food diet.
As children, the Keith kids were subject to their dad’s “continuous, health experiments” in the kitchen. They say, “finally in 1995, Dad hit the taste jackpot when he added whole food supplements to a mix of organic peanut butter and honey. They were small, delicious balls packed with nutritional awesomeness. Dad took one taste and just said, ‘It’s Perfect!’” The Perfect Foods Bar was born. In 2005, they decided to share the recipe and started Perfect Foods Research.
Perfect Foods Bars are “delicious, great tasting bars that DON’T have any added chemical preservatives.” They start with a freshly ground peanut butter or almond butter, then add organic honey and nutrient dense whole foods and whole food protein.
Here are their 10 reasons to try these bars:
I received an awesome sampler pack that had one of each flavor of Perfect Bar plus two minis and a flash drive (sweet!)
The flavors are: Peanut Butter, Fruit and Nut, Carob Chip, Cranberry Crunch (Lite), Almond Butter, Almond Coconut (Vegan), Almond Acai (Lite). All of the bars are gluten free, Non-GMO, soy free and have no preservatives. They also contain 20+ organic superfoods (don’t worry you can’t taste them!) They are high in protein and are suitable as meal replacements – even for a big eater! I had a Peanut Butter bar and a banana for breakfast before a morning interview and I never thought about food at all until lunch time. That is unusual for me.
The bars are perfect for people who love peanut butter and almond butter like I do. They have the natural sweetness of honey mixed with the nut butter. The “Lite” bars contain puffed rice and dried fruit and 35% fewer calories. I liked them, too. They are a bit less sweet than the others. The Almond Coconut is vegan. It is very tasty, but it has less protein than the Peanut Butter and Almond Butter varieties. I also LOVE the “mini” bars for a quick snack or with fruit in the afternoon.
Runner’s World named the Peanut Butter bar one of the 10 best bars for recovery. They said:
If your recovery routine includes scooping peanut butter from the jar, try this portable version. The Perfect Foods Bar blends peanut butter with organic honey and powdered fruits and vegetables for a snack rich in protein (18 grams), carbs (25 grams), and potassium (13 percent of your DV)—an electrolyte that’s lost during sweaty workouts. Unlike most energy bars, which are shelf-stable, this one requires refrigeration.
The nice folks at Perfect Bar offered me four sampler packs for four winners. Trust me, you want to try these bars! Please enter with the Rafflecopter below. The giveaway is open to US residents, 18 and over and is void where prohibited. The giveaway ends on July 15th and the winners will be selected and notified on July 16th.
