Greatist is back with its top 65 Health and Fitness Apps of 2014. How did they pick? They “scoured every app market for standouts that were pushing the boundaries of health and fitness, and sought to cover an array of interests and goals.” They took popularity into consideration but placed most of the focus for each app on these criteria: Is it highly rated? Does it offer something totally unique? Is it user-friendly? Is it reliable and not buggy? Can it continue to grow and innovate? Some of these apps have made it onto their yearly list in the past.
The categories are: Fitness and Strength, Intervals and Circuit Training, Running and Cardio, Cycling, Weight Management, Diet and Nutrition, Mind and Brain, Zen and Mindfulness, Overall Health, Social Good and Innovation.
Here is how they stack up:
I have reviewed 16 of 65 in the past two years. Looks like I have a lot of work to do! Some of my new faves did not make the cut. They say to leave a comment on the post. I will do just that. I will try to profile some of the ones I have missed – especially in the “Mind and Brain” and “Zen and Mindfulness” categories!
Take a look at the list and let me know what you think. Do they have your faves?
I participated in a bunch of Runaway Bridal Planner’s health and fitness bloghops and when I saw another one, I signed right up! In celebration of summer, she is hosting the “Heat it Up Health & Fitness Giveaway Bloghop.” We are finally warming up here in Chicago, so I am IN!
In case you are not familiar with it, a bloghop is a set of blog posts by different bloggers that are linked together. In this case, each blog hosts a unique giveaway and provides links to other blogs with like-minded giveaways running for the same time period. Blog readers who come to one blog on the list can see links to all of the others and can click to “hop” on over to the next blog.
There are over a dozen great bloggers participating! The giveaways run from June 20th to June 29th. Check out my post and then use the links at the bottom of the post to see what else you can win! My giveaway includes prizes from I <3 to Run, Bottlebark and BANDI.
