So far my “Tried it Tuesday” posts have covered products I have tried, or shared, for review. Today, I am going to tell you about a website I use for travel deals (and a special limited time offer) and two healthy, new products I have tried.
I love to travel and you know that I love a great deal. Last May, I had an awesome stay at Red Mountain Resort with some of my Chicago girlfriends. We found a great deal on Luxury Link. We booked two trips (for two people each) and got an additional $50 off of both deals, too, because Molly signed up with my referral (click the link here and you get $50 off of your first trip booked on Luxury Link, too!) Since then, I used my Luxury Link credits to get a great deal at the Roger Hotel in NYC for the NYC Half Marathon. We got a great deal and extra perks, too!
Luxury Link offers awesome trip deals, and special offers, for luxury trips all over the world. They offer “buy now” or auction rates. We first learned of this site in 2002 on our honeymoon from a couple who was staying with us at the resort for a whole lot less than we paid. Ouch. Membership is free and you get $50 off for signing up HERE. And a bonus (and why I am mentioning them again) now through end of day tomorrow, May 7th, get an EXTRA 10% off your trip with the code SPRING10. You can save some real cash! These are real deals at luxury properties – not leftovers!
This post contains an affiliate link to Luxury Link. I will get travel credits if anyone signs up and books a trip via my referral.
I tried Fruit Bliss dried fruit in one of my subscription boxes and loved it. It reminded me of the fresh delicious dried fruit we had in Southern Russia from the local market. It is very moist and sweet. I emailed Fruit Bliss and they offered to send me some additional fruit to try and some to give away. Fruit Bliss is a Brooklyn, NY company. They say, “Bliss is an ultimate state of happiness—exactly how one should feel when eating our deliciously juicy, super tasty whole fruit snacks. Feeding your body with healthy and nutritious food is one of the keys to a blissful lifestyle.” So true!
Fruit Bliss is very different from typical dried fruits. One thing you will notice is that the fruit is a natural dark color. This is what happens as the fruit oxidizes naturally drying in the sun. Most dried apricots are a bright orange color because they have added sulfur dioxide, a chemical color preserver. These products are all USDA organic, vegan, non-GMO and gluten free.
The fruit medley of apricots, plums and figs is so fresh and and delicious. I have been trying to clean up my diet after a terrible (losing) battle in April with Easter candy. This bag of soft dried fruit medley was a big help! Sweet, delicious and good for me! The awesome folks at Fruit Bliss sent me 3 prize packs for 3 readers. The mini-packs are awesome to bring with you whenever you are on the run and need a little pick me up! Keep an eye out as I will be giving them away soon.
I was contacted by KissMe Organics to try their Organic Matcha- Culinary Grade Green Tea Powder. It is 100% organic, tested for purity, and contains more than 137 times the antioxidants found in a cup of brewed tea. They recommend it in everything from smoothies, to baking, to mixed drinks, and even just water.
The benefits of the matcha tea powder are:
- Increased energy and focus with the “slow release natural energy.”
- Variety of uses including smoothies, lattes and in baking/recipes.
- Tons of antioxidants – the powdered form contains the entire tea leaf which increases the nutritional content.
- “Calorie Burning Booster” – provides all-natural way to “increase your body’s metabolism.”
They sent me a free recipe book (which is offered to all buyers on Amazon) and I adapted the basic latte recipe. Here it is:
I loved the latte as I am a big matcha green tea fan. The latte was not too sweet and I felt like it gave me a pick me up without making me feel jumpy. The 4 0z bag is $25 which is not cheap. That said, because it is ground, you only need to use a teaspoon or even less in each recipe. The bag is expected to last a month which makes each latte less than $1.00 (or just a bit over depending on the milk.) The product seems fresh and the package is resealable. I will definitely be enjoying many more of these lattes and will try to branch out. They offer some delicious sounding cocktails, too, and 48 more options!
Have you tried green tea powder? How do you use it?
That’s all for now! Have you tried anything new lately?? Please tell me about it in the comments!
PS. Don’t forget my Erin Baker’s Wholesome Foods (LAST DAY), April Bestowed Box and Greens Plus giveaways! And the cool contests I mentioned on Friday!
Please note: I was not compensated for these posts. I was sent the KissMe Organics Organic Matcha and Fruit Bliss snacks at no cost in exchange for reviews. There is an affiliate link to Luxury Link. I will get travel credits if anyone signs up and books a trip via my referral. All opinions are my own.
