I loved the article 6 Simple Rituals to Reach Your Potential Every Day by Amber Rae in Fast Company. She says, “becoming and staying productive isn’t about hard-to-follow programs or logging your every move in an app. It’s about self-care. Here are daily to-dos to get you started.” She wrote a piece on entrepreneurs and got some tips from “a very calm and collected” Mike Del Ponte. I paraphrase:
The key take-aways:
- You lose water when you sleep. Drink a glass of water when you wake up for a fresher start.
- Prioritize every day. Make a top 3 list.
- “Solo-task” – a tough one. He recommends 50 minutes on one task followed by 10 minutes of break until you have completed your important tasks. [A tough one in this fast paced world!]
- Work out for better energy and attitude – do it first thing to reap the most benefits. [This is my fave. I am a morning exerciser.]
- Write 5 things you are grateful for each day. Having a tough time in your life? Try for 10. Refer to them as needed. [See Sunday’s happiness post for more about the value of this.]
- At the end of every day reflect on what went well (and how to do more of it.) [I love this. So many of us spend time lamenting what went wrong. I am going to try to start thinking about what went right!]
