Guest Post: Want to Change Things Up? Get a Coach

My friend and fellow Chicago Running Blogger, Sara Larsen just launched her business Coach Sara. She believes, “a healthy lifestyle is all about balance and I work with people to create small shifts that have a big impact on their health.” I agree! Sara is passionate about teaching people to take charge of their health “starting with good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.” She is also a certified running coach for people whose fitness goals include getting started with or improving their running this year. Sara says that you deserve a health and running coach this year and here is why:

coach sara“Whether you are contemplating signing up for your first 5k race, wanting to lose weight, or interested in learning how to manage your stress or PR at your next race, working with a coach will help you reach your true potential. Any successful person will tell you that along the way, someone was coaching them, and mentoring their progress.

There are a lot of people who seem to be of the mindset that only elite runners or someone with a disease needs a coach. I completely disagree! Anyone who is new to running and/or looking to improve their health at any level can benefit from some extra support and resources. You can read books about health, running, and websites with diet advice, but a coach can teach you a multitude of skills and develop an individualized plan to help you find the best path that works for you.

I truly believe a coach will help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. A coach is someone who is 100% dedicated to help you achieve your goals. A coach gives you this dedicated time; they support you, celebrate successes with you, help hold you accountable, and motivate you along the way.

As your health and running coach, I would not only give you the proper tools that that will last a lifetime, but will help keep you honest with yourself and always improving. Learning to prioritize and claim time for your goals is critical for your over-all health and wellbeing.”

Sara offers Health Coaching, Running Coaching and Lifestyle Coaching (A combo):

I mentioned in my post last weekend that I used an online running coach, Run Coach, for my Houston Marathon training plan. It was my 37th marathon but I liked the structure and accountability of the tool. I also loved the advice they sent me for the race. I think working with a health coach can help you set health and fitness goals, kickstart them and help you to become more accountable. Also, if you have tried and failed to meet health goals in previous years, maybe this is the push you need toward success? Definitely something to consider! Here are some more reasons to consider a health coach from Mind Body Green, too.
