When the husband and I moved to Chicago, we were convinced that we would move into a huge “3 Flat” apartment or a vintage apartment by the lake. We were looking at one of the latter with our awesome agent, Marissa, and she suggested that we check out a more modern place (circa 1953) with a beautiful renovation and a fantastic view. The lobby of the building is very 50s mod – think Mad Men – and the husband LOVED it. I thought that it looked a bit like an old age home and there were a lot of old folks milling around, too.
The moment we walked in and saw the unbelievable view and amazing renovation, we were completely sold. That was over 7 years ago. I am still in awe of how beautiful Lake Michigan is in every season. That is where the obsession comes in. Since I got an iPhone in 2009, I have been a wee bit obsessed with taking photos at sunrise. If you are my Facebook friend, this may be no surprise to you as I am often moved to post the pics.
Surprisingly, I posted less than one per week last year. During the polar vortex, I got a bit carried away. I decided to share some of my favorite front window pics here today.
Thank you for indulging me. I have to say, I have probably taken 500 pictures out my window or more since we moved in. I can’t believe how beautiful it is. I am so grateful that we live in a place that fills me with awe and wonder most days. How many people can say that?
Do you have any “harmless obsessions?”
