I love surprises, freebies and awesome local companies. Last Friday, I received an e-mail receipt for a coconut mani-pedi and fish tacos for two from Abe’s Market and thought “uh-oh, I’ve been hacked.” But no, there was a message on the order as follows:

Whoa? Seriously?! Abe’s Market is launching local services in Chicago and they are sending some “good” customers free chances to try them. And, OMG, the mani-pedi comes to me!!
You don’t have to be in Chicago to take advantage of Abe’s Market. Abe’s Market is “the online marketplace for great natural products.” They connect buyers seeking amazing natural products with the people who make them. At Abe’s Market you can discover fantastic natural products while having the unique opportunity to learn the story behind them from their sellers. You can even chat directly with sellers to ask specific questions so you know that you can trust and be comfortable with the products you bring into your home.
They recently added “Abe’s Qualities”, which allows allows people to filter the site by particular natural dietary and lifestyle needs (Paleo-Diet Friendly, Vegan, Organic, Gluten Free, etc) and see/learn the significance of eco-labels like “Fair Trade,” “sustainable,” “PVC Free”, etc. It’s a unique feature of Abe’s and it was also a pretty massive undertaking. They had to break down 13K+ products with the help of experts and merchants.
They also launched a new program called “Discover Natural.” Discover Natural lets you sample three natural products for $5 and you get $5 gift code for Abe’s Market, so this is basically free. The items range from natural baby & kids items to food, health, bath and body products. You can test out new products. I have used this for some new energy bars and beauty products.
Abe’s Market offers great sales and specials, a huge variety of products, a great blog and now local services in Chicago. These include massage, naturopath visits, pilates, yoga, wellness coaching and more. I will test this out with my freebies and let you know how it goes. Abe’s offers many of the products I have been sharing on this blog in my on-the-go healthy snacks series including Simple Squares, Jimmy Bars, Veggie-Gos and many more. They also have many of the natural products that Rhys recommended in this post.
Abe’s Market also has a rewards program. You get points for buying products, reviewing products and sharing products. You can also share on social media and get points if your friends sign up for Abe’s newsletter or make purchases. You get 50 points for signing up for rewards and 20 for getting the newsletter. When you reach 100, you earn $5 off! If your friends end up making a purchase you get an additional 200 points! These points can be redeemed to earn coupons for Abe’s. Click here to learn more.
