In January I wrote about some up and coming tech start ups in Chicago that were founded by women – “Women Who Launch”. See the post HERE. One of the companies is called Pretty Quick. It is a website that finds and books you last minute spa appointments in Chicago at various price points by service service. I mentioned them in another post a few months ago and they contacted me to see if I wanted to try them out and tell you about my experience. Free pedicure? Yes, please!
I decided to get a pedicure in River North yesterday between other appointments I had scheduled. I went to the Pretty Quick website. I like that it works from any web browser and is not another app I need to manage. I gave them my text number and credit card to hold the appointment. I selected nail services, pedicure and the address of my other appointment to pinpoint the area. The spas have 5 minutes to give you options/open times. I had 15 minutes to select and confirm my spot once the options were presented.
Within a minute, I had three options including Bliss Spa and New Age Nail Salon. I have been to both and like them a lot. New Age Nail Salon fell into my price range and was near where I was going, so I picked it. I got an immediate confirmation via text and email.
The salon is bright and clean, they were very friendly and my appointment was right on time. I picked my color. I liked the name Forever Young, but picked Henna instead. Nam did a great job and helped my runner’s feet to look as good as new. They made me comfortable, gave me a glass of water and my file and buffer to keep and I even got a shoulder massage. They even had free wi-fi! It worked out perfectly for me. Then, the service and tip were charged to my Pretty Quick account and I received a receipt via email. It was like Uber for spas! Nice touch, Pretty Quick!
In my opinion, Pretty Quick was pretty great. If you are in Chicago (and soon the greater Chicagoland area) and need spa services, you should definitely give this service a try.
