2 Good Causes+FUN = Love with Food and The Arts of Courage Project (GIVEAWAYS, too!)

Today’s topics don’t have a ton in common other than they both involve awesome women who both turned negatives into positives and are offering their special projects back to help others, raise awareness and spread the love (and goodies)! I goaded Stacy into getting a Love with Food subscription (and am sharing her terrific review) and I met Jorie Gillis and learned about her project at Cycle for Survival a few weeks ago. So read through and check out these awesome ideas from cool women and then enter to win my giveaways!

Heeeerre’s Stacy:
In her undying effort to share great finds and even greater deals, Erica presented one of her finds to me in the fall. My memory of the exchange may be a bit fuzzy since it’s taken me a coons age to write the promised guest post, but I’m pretty sure it went down something like this:
Erica: Hey, Stacy, you love trying new things, right?
Me: Yep!
Erica: And you love doing good things for others, right?
Me: Yep!
Erica: And you love food, right?
Me: Yep!
Erica: Great! Then you should totally try this awesome deal for Love with Food from Daily Candy Deals! I would do it, but I am backlogged on all these great new things to try and blog about. So, if you try it, then you can write a guest post for my blog!
[EA: A win-win for me, no?]
Me: OK!

Well, however the conversation went, I decided to check out the Daily Candy deal with the teaser heading: “Gourmet Snacks Delivered Monthly.” Snacks? Hello?! Yes, please! Besides, if I’m not going to be whipping up something tasty on my own, this is the next best thing and right up my alley! I bought the deal, which was $15 for a 3-month subscription to Love With Food (LWF). [EA: Normally $36/3 months – a good deal, right??] Once I set up my subscription, I waited anxiously for my first delivery. LWF takes orders up to the first of each month to receive that next month’s box. So, for example, you have until March 1st to sign up and receive the March box. It usually ships around the 10th of the month, delivering a cute box of surprise goodies a few days later.

I received my first box in October. Even better, I had managed to forget that I ordered it, which made for a double surprise to receive a package in the mail! I ran up to my apartment with my box like a little kid dashing down the stairs at Christmas to see if Santa had arrived!

What an adorable box – like a present just for me!

Screen Shot 2013-02-23 at 1.18.33 PMPacked all snug inside was a glorious array of treats, most of which I had never tried before and was eager to start digging in! Good thing I remembered to snag a “before” picture of the box and its contents for Erica ☺ Each box includes a card that identifies each of the items in the box and offers a brief description, as well as a reminder that you can purchase more of your favorites treats from the box at a discount on their website. Score!

Some examples of the October sampling: delicious organic Pu-erh tea from Numi (high in caffeine – yikes!), all natural Cheddar Cheese Baked Fries from Snikiddy (gluten and wheat free!) and Mrs. May’s Naturals Acai Strawberry Sesame Strips (one of my faves!). There were about 8-9 different items in the box which was consistent with the other boxes that I received.

What’s the best thing about Love With Food? (Yes, even better than the awesome box of goodies) For every box they send, they donate a meal to a hungry child. As Erica would say: win-win!! And then, when you factor in the product promotion opportunity for all these great snack-makers, it’s actually a win-win-win!!!

But seriously, check out the site and consider signing up to try a box, or put a smile on the face of a friend or loved one by sending a gift subscription HERE for only $10/month (+$2 S+H). I thoroughly enjoyed my October, November, and December boxes. So much so, I had to share the love too! Enjoy, E!

Good news for all of you – I decided to get a subscription and then Stacy gifted me a 3 month subscription SO I received TWO boxes for February. There are 9 awesome goodies and I am going to give one of the LWF boxes away! Hello -2 kinds of Hagensburg Truffle Pigs and a chocolate madeleine from Donsuemor are included! Click this link to learn more about the genesis of this cool company and its founder’s story – I LOVE it!

Don’t forget to check out the new-fangled (for me) Rafflecopter giveaway options at the bottom of the post and enter to win!
