I was chatting with a couple on the bus this week (I know, I know… I am officially a Midwesterner… Carry on) about how everyone (including me) was glued to a cell phone or tablet and we were reminiscing about reading a book or newspaper on the bus. Then, I saw this list of “50 Things Replaced by Technology” on Mashable. I remember calling a travel agent (and sending away for brochures), dialing *69 to see who called me last (and hoping it was someone special), using encyclopedias for papers and, of course, looking words up in the dictionary. Well, I remember ALL of these (except maybe paying bills at the post office). I definitely had LOTS of phone numbers memorized (and still use some as security codes). Now I only know mine and Neal’s. Pretty sad!

I don’t miss all of these things (and I do still kick it old school with post cards and flea markets), but I do miss handwritten cards and letters and mix tapes! How about you?
