I really love recaps and taking stock of the year as the year closes (and I apologize if you are sick of these!!) I started this blog earlier this year with the idea of sharing deals and “finds” for shopping and experiences. I then started adding in other types finds and experiences – like running stories and other observations from my life. From the blog traffic report, it looks like that was a good call. A “deal” post was the most popular followed by observations and running posts.
Top 10 “Erica Finds” posts this year (most popular first):
1. Who knew?? Chicago Area Runners Association Discounts! (My only post to “go viral” thanks to the a posting by CARA on Facebook! I updated it with even more info!)
2. Calling Someone the “F” Word – On Weight & Bullying… (My “celebrity” post – was re-tweeted by author Jennifer Weiner!)
3. “Runcouver” – Seawheeze Half Marathon Race Report (Recap of inaugural Lululemon Seawheeze half marathon in Vancouver – this year’s registration opens 1/18/2013!)
4. Dallas Marathon (& Inspiration) Report (Recap of Dallas Marathon – which replaced NY Marathon for me)
5. Rules for Being Human (A quick post with Rules For Being Human from Sanskrit)
6. Greetings from NYC- (No) Marathon Sunday (My report from NYC on Marathon Sunday after the NY Marathon was cancelled because of “Super Storm Sandy”.)
7. Simplifying Things… (A post on having less material possessions after reading this blog post You Probably Have Too Much Stuff which inspired me to host a clothing swap and donate the remains through Zealous Good – a win-win!)
8. Guest Post – Ask the Expert about “7 Foods a Nutritionist Would Never Eat” (A post by awesome nutritionist Lauren Antonucci from Nutrition Energy in NYC based on my request in response to an article in Shape Magazine.)
9. Friday Finds: Managing STRESS, Friend’s Finds and Fun Deals (One of my usual Friday potpourri posts!)
10. Vanity versus Joy – A Running Photo Victory (My musings on photos, body image and vanity after a (happy but not so flattering) photo in the Brewers Half Marathon in Milwaukee.)
What was your favorite? (For other bloggers, what was your top post? Share a link in the comments if you want to!)
Happy New Year to all!
