Turning the Frown(ing Thoughts) Upside Down

September 20, 2012 at 5:44 am

I did my first 20 mile run for my New York Marathon training last Sunday and around mile 15 I was beset with doubts and negative thoughts. It was far… and harder than I expected.. and maybe I was not in such great shape after all… This week, I came across a(nother) great post from Kristen Armstrong’s Mile Markers on Runners World that talked about…

September 18, 2012 at 7:32 am

I always read about celebrities who have personal chefs or high-end gourmet meal delivery of healthy, fresh, delicious food and personal trainers and think to myself, that is what I would do if I were famous/won the lottery. I ran the majority of both races with friends. Here is a major shout out to pacing with and enjoying running time with my friends, Stacy and Abby! I…

10 Life Lessons From Albert Einstein (Plus 2 Small Give-Aways!)

September 9, 2012 at 5:37 am

(borrowed from Mind Body Green) 1. Follow Your Curiosity: “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.” 2. Perseverance is Priceless: “It’s not that I’m so smart; it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” 3. Focus on the Present: “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” 4. Imagination…
