Tried it Tuesday: Dr. Burd’s Wonder Spray #Giveaway

I had the opportunity to try Dr. Burd’s Wonder Spray. It’s a natural, non-toxic powerful disinfectant and antimicrobial agent that can be used in your house and on your skin. They are going to send a sample bottle to up to 50 readers – so read on!

Wonder Spray was founded by biochemist, Dr. John Burd. He was the founder and former CEO of Dexcom, Inc., the leader in Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems. His current research is focused on formulating healthy, natural solutions to common skin and health-related issues by “harnessing the power of HOCL (Hypochlorous Acid).” He says, “HOCL has been called a ‘superhero’ because it’s so effective in killing germs” and “is strong enough to kill germs in the kitchen or bathroom and safe to use for many common health ailments.”

HOCL is a natural substance produced by your white blood cells to help fight off infections. It’s a great natural antimicrobial agent and it works by significantly reducing the number of bacteria around the affected area and reducing irritation, redness, and inflammation. Learn more about the science behind HOCL here.

Wonder Spray is 100% natural and alcohol free. It’s gentle and soothing on skin and is safe for all ages and also for your pets. It’s non-toxic and contains no bleach or ammonia, no other harmful contaminants, additives or buffers. It’s a “remarkably effective solution that helps you address life’s most common health and hygiene concerns.” Wonder Spray is also eco-friendly, cruelty-free, unscented and EPA-registered.

Wonder Spray can be used to clean surfaces and to treat common ailments. It can be substituted for chemicals – like bleach or ammonia – for cleaning or disinfecting surfaces. Dr. Burd also recommends it to “treat itches, rashes, allergies, colds, sore throats, and acne.” Wonder Spray is safe to use on sunburns, minor cuts, scrapes, piercing aftercare, acne-like skin blemishes and for minor burn care. He says, “you can use it for seasonal eye, nasal, and respiratory symptoms, mouth sores, gum issues, earaches, dry eye and pink eye*.” [Please note: there are many studies supporting these claims, but Wonder Spray is not FDA approved to treat any health conditions.]

I initially tried Wonder Spray on dry skin and minor chafing from my running. I also tested it out as a hand sanitizer. It dries quickly, has no smell and keeps your hands feeling nice and soft. Most recently, Recently, I’ve been using it on my eyelids and around my eyes to help with itching and redness from seasonal allergies. I’m switching out my travel sanitizer for Wonder Spray on my next trip. It functions as sanitizer but also helps with itching, skin ailments and more. I’m sure it will come in handy when I need it!
