If you’ve been around here, you know that I am a HUGE fan of the Epsom Salt bath. I run, work out and travel a lot. I love to unwind at home in a nice warm bath. At Expo West, I met the team from Westlab. We discussed the merits of Epsom Salt versus Magnesium Flakes. They gave me some samples of each and sent more my way to test.

I use Epsom Salts frequently and have tried Magnesium Flakes in the past. Westlab “supercharged” their Epsom Salt with essential healing ingredients: Arnica, Spearmint and Eucalyptus. It’s formulated to relieve inflammation and soreness. It also smells amazing. Magnesium Flakes also help with soreness and have added benefits like improved sleep. I need that one!
I tried both the SuperSalt and Magnesium Flakes. I love the scent of the Epsom Salts and definitely noticed relief from muscle aches from running. I liked the Magnesium Flakes, too. These dissolved better than some I’ve used in the past and I didn’t feel like I was covered in a film. That was a big plus! I liked how I felt after using the Magnesium Flakes but I missed the aroma of the scented bath salts. I may put a few drops of essential oils in the the tub with the Magnesium Flakes next time. I’ve already bought more of both and I’m excited to try additional products from Westlab.
