Tried It Tuesday: Spice Trail Snacks Savory Granola #Giveaway

I met the lovely ladies behind Spice Trail Snacks at Expo East. Spice Trail Snacks makes savory granola. The idea of savory granola for salads, soups and savory breakfasts is such a great one. I tried all three flavors and fell for them fast. I liked the tastes, the concept and the founders’ energy.

Brooke and Preeti are two friends who love to travel and associate tastes with their memories. They set out to create “globally inspired savory snacks.” Their granola is “a healthy reinvention of the bold flavors they’ll never forget.” Each granola contains spicy oat clusters with fruits and nuts for energy, crunch and sweetness. They taste amazing and are packed with fiber, whole grains, and protein “with a kick of heat for good measure!” Let Spice Trail Snacks “be your guide around the world, one bite at a time.”

Spice Trail Snacks launched with three flavors. They are Marrakesh Crunch (Moroccan), Bombay Crunch (Indian) and Kingston Crunch (Jamaican). The spices are on point and the flavors are all delicious. Each granola has four whole grains and then a variety of dried fruit, nuts, chickpeas and coconut. The real difference is the spice. They use things like cayenne, curry, cumin and scotch bonnet pepper to amp up the flavors. You’ve never had granola like this!

Roasted delicata squash with rice and quinoa topped with Marrakesh Crunch.

I added the Marrakesh Crunch to butternut squash soup, my quinoa bowl and salads. I made some roasted delicata squash, stuffed with with a rice and quinoa blend, salt and pepper and topped with Marrakesh Crunch. It was so easy and SO delicious.

Becca recommended using the Kingston Crunch to compliment sweet items. Check out her Granola Stuffed Apple recipe in the post link. It has coconut oil, coconut chips, raisins and pumpkin seeds. Don’t let it fool you – it also has a kick!

I like to eat the Bombay Crunch straight. Maybe it’s the cashews and raisins, but this one is the most like trail mix for me. They say it’s “an Indian street snack done the healthy way.” It has a great mix of heat, spice and a bit of sweetness from the clover honey and raisins. Trust me – it’s delicious straight from the bag!

You don’t have to take my word for it! The nice folks from Spice Trail Snacks will send three winners a Passport pack which is a sampler of 3 flavors in 10 oz bags and 1.75 oz bags.
