Healthier in ’17: Soul Sprout Snacks #Giveaway

Happy New Year! I have a confession to make. I’ve been holding out on you. This fall, I had the opportunity to test out a bunch of great healthy products. I decided to hold out and to do a “Healthier in ’17” series of posts and giveaways to power a healthier 2017 for my readers.

At Expo East I had the opportunity to meet with the CEO of Soul Sprout, Matt Fuller, and to try all of their products. Soul Sprout uses organic, non-GMO, sprouted and plant-based ingredients that “nourish the body and soul.” Their products are nutritious and they’re crafted with care to taste delicious, too. Soul Sprout makes almond butter bites (a/k/a raw truffles), crackers, cereal, granola bars and nut bars.  Soul Sprout sent me an assortment of nut bars, truffles and granola bars to try and share. They’ll also send one lucky winner a similar package, so read on!

Soul Sprout at Expo East

Soul Sprout (formerly Two Moms in the Raw) was born when the founder was diagnosed with MS and wanted to find natural ways to maintain and restore her health. She learned about the curative properties of sprouted and raw foods and began making her own snacks and recipes. The company has grown from there. Their delicious and organic snacks are made from sprouted ingredients to make you feel “power-full.” Soul Sprout products are vegan, certified raw, organic, wheat-free, dairy-free, soy-free, sugar-free, gluten-free and GMO-free. There’s a reason that they use sprouted ingredients for “accelerated nutrition.” Learn more here.

This is the sampler that I received. The winner will receive a similar package.

With the rebranding, the product line has expanded and the number of flavors has grown a ton. Here are the options for bars and truffles:

  • The Sprouted Nut Bars have full pieces of nuts and fruit in them. You can easily identify the ingredients. They come in 6 flavors: Blueberry Burst, Wow Cacao Nib, Cranberry Crush, Charming Cherry Chocolate, Gotta Getta GojiBerry and Go For Goldenberry.
  • The Almond Butter Truffles are a decadent, satisfying delicious treat. They come in Cayenne Cacao, Cacao Almond, Cinnaminalicious and Green Tea Vanilla.
  • The Granola Bars are more like nut and seed bars than traditional granola bars. They come in Gojiberry Triple Yum-Yum, Sweet-N-Tart Goldenberry, Bring on the Blueberry, Cranberry Chia Crunch and Cacao Nib Crunch
We loved the bite sized pieces!

Kristin and I tried the original truffles last year after the Carlsbad Half and loved them! The Almond Butter Truffle recipes have been tweaked some and they’re amazing. I shared the Cinnaminalicious and Cayenne Cacao with some of the runners at this weekend’s Lululemon Running Retreat. They were a big hit. Everyone loved the texture and taste. The Cinnaminalicious is my fave. It reminds me of a gooey cinnamon roll! Allison had the Green Tea Vanilla Almond Butter Truffles for breakfast on a plane ride. She said, “The vanilla flavor was stronger than green tea, and there was still some cacao powder for those who are interested in chocolate flavor, but those three flavor “powders” were 3 out of the 5 or 6 total ingredients! The texture was good and they kept me full.” We all liked the bite sized pieces so you could have one and save or share the rest or eat all four for less than 300 calories.

Amanda tried the Wow Cacao Nib Nut Bar with a banana for an afternoon snack. She said, “it had lots of nuts and you can taste all the kinds. I liked the crunch. It was not super sweet which was good.” I tried some of the nut bars at Expo East and liked the taste and texture. They’re like a healthier version of some of the popular nut bars on the market.

Can you identify the ingredients in this granola bar?

Allison and I liked the crunch of the granola bars. She said, “even though they’re crunchy they aren’t too messy! And they’re definitely not too sweet.” I had the blueberry flavor for an afternoon snack. I like that you can taste the flavors of the nuts and seeds and that it’s not overly sweet.
