Friday Five (Finale) – 5 New Food Finds

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run. Sadly, after three years, they’re moving on to new features. This will be the last Friday Five link up hosted by the DC Trifecta! Thank you Courtney, Cynthia and Mar for all of the fun and connections. I look forward to seeing what’s coming next for all of you!

If you’ve been following my Instagram and blog, you’ll know that I have a ton of new food finds from Expo East and other places. If you missed it, check out my recaps (Day 1 and Day 2).

5 New Food Finds!

crunchies

1. Crunchies – The nice folks at Crunchies Foods sent me all nine flavors to try after I checked them out at Expo East. These freeze dried fruits (and veggie) retain most of the nutrients of fresh, whole fruit and have no added sugar or artificial flavoring. I’ll have a full review and giveaway coming soon. The early reviews from my “team” are very good! In the mean time, you can find Crunchies on the web and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

enjoy-life-chocolate-snack-packs

2. Enjoy Life Foods Baking Chocolate Snack Packs – The folks at Enjoy Life got so much feedback on people snacking on their baking chocolate chips, that they made snack packs! You can now get “America’s #1 allergy-friendly baking chocolate” in single-serve packs for snacking on-the-go. They have your “emergency chocolate needs” covered. I’ll be doing a full review and giveaway soon! In the mean time, you can find Enjoy Life Foods on the web and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

pure-food-protein

3. Pure Food Plant Based Protein – Pure Food recently launched plant based protein powders in Vanilla and Cacao. This all natural protein powder contains 7 whole superfoods and probiotics. These protein powders are organic, plant-based and are made of 100% real food. For each bag sold, they donate 5 meals to Forgotten Harvest, the Detroit-based chapter of Feeding America. I tried some after my 17 mile long run in a smoothie and the 20g of protein kept me full all day. Woot! I’ll be doing a full review and giveaway soon! In the mean time, you can find Pure Food on the web and on Facebook and Twitter.

redd-bars

4. R.e.d.d. Bars – I met the founder of R.e.d.d. Bar at Expo East. I love the marketing for REDD bars! “All killer. No filler.” And the box affirms that “Today, you’ll be strong and brave.” Great new mantra!! These oatmeal superfood bars are high in protein, gluten free and non-GMO. They contain 11 superfoods and 23 vitamins. So far I tried Peanut Butter and it’s a winner! I’ll be doing a full review and giveaway soon. In the mean time, you can find R.e.d.d. Bars on the web and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. [You can also win some in my Expo East New Finds Giveaway through 10/20. Enter HERE.]

sherpa-foods

5. Sherpa Foods Tsampa – I’m excited to try this new cereal from Sherpa Foods made with tsampa. It’s the same whole grain sprouted and roasted barley eaten by Tibetan Sherpas for centuries. Bonus- it comes in yummy flavors, too! The cereals are low glycemic, high in fiber, vegan, all natural and contain prebiotics. I’ll have a full review soon. I’ve shared the flavors with my testers and kept a few for myself. Early reviews are very positive! You can find Sherpa Foods on the web and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

It is amazing how many awesome new healthy foods there are out there! I can’t wait to try them all.

Which of these sounds best to you? Have you found any new healthy products I should be on the look out for? Please tell me about them in the comments!
