Not Rockin’ Chicago + PowerBar Giveaway!

bwBfIPlySometimes things don’t go as planned! I ran down to the Rock n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon Expo to find that my “entry” through sponsor PowerBar was just a VIP bracelet. I was planning to run as a pace run/fun run for San Francisco in two weeks, so I was not willing to part with the $150 race weekend entry fee.

All was not lost, though. I had a great run down on a beautiful day with Amber and then Wendy. I had a good time at the Expo chatting with my friends from CEP, Curate Bar and Hoka. I met Kevin from Vital Proteins and tried some of their awesome collagen peptides. I tried the unbelievably awesome electric foam roller from The BFF. Have you see this thing? It was all good. Plus, I got to see Emily and Kayla and check out a very nice expo.

I was a terrible blogger and did not take pics at the PowerBar booth and only one at the Expo. Oops. Luckily, Emily is more on the ball than me! Someone has to be. I gave Emily the VIP tag so she can live it up and take some pics to share.

Plus, I got a ton of loot from the very nice and very apologetic folks at PowerBar! Guess what, I am going to give it away so you can try it. I love the new Simple Fruit Energy Packs. They are made with real fruit, are gluten free and have 100 calories. They come in 3 flavors! I also got an awesome water bottle, PowerGel, Protein Bars and Protein Shakes. I got more than I can use, so I will send one lucky reader the water bottle and a few of each gel, bar and fruit packs.

I also headed down to The Bean for the We Run Social meet up and saw Gregg, Steph and Kimberly. Yay!

I plan to run 13.1 tomorrow and to meet my friends at the end. Seems like a good plan to me! Thanks to PowerBar for getting me to the Expo and to cheer at the race. Not as I planned, but still a great running adventure!

Please note: I was given PowerBar goodies at no cost. I was not otherwise compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
