I had the opportunity to meet with the folks from barkTHINS at Chicago Sweets & Snacks. They make “snacking chocolate” – delicious dark chocolate snacks made with fair trade and non-GMO ingredients. Since 2013, they’ve been delivering an original take on chocolate bark. Each flavor contains dark chocolate plus real, whole food ingredients like nuts, seeds and fruit and no artificial colors or flavors. The thin pieces are the perfect after dinner treat or afternoon pick me up.
I got to try all of the flavors at Sweets & Snacks. The simple combos are just delicious. They come in Dark Chocolate Almond, Dark Chocolate Pretzel with Sea Salt, Dark Chocolate Coconut with Almond, Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Seed, Dark Chocolate Blueberry with Quinoa Crunch, Dark Chocolate Mint and Dark Chocolate Peanut. They also have seasonal gingerbread and peppermint flavors.
The simple combinations are really pretty amazing. I like them all but especially Dark Chocolate Coconut with Almond and Dark Chocolate Peanut and, of course, the seasonal flavors! Gingerbread is pretty much my jam! The Dark Chocolate Gingerbread has a lovely finish and leaves a pleasant taste behind.
