Tried It Tuesday: Amy & Brian’s Coconut Water #Giveaway

70vUcZcS_400x400Amy & Brian have been selling coconut water since WAY before coconut water was all the rage. Since 2001, Amy and Brian have been working with farmers in Thailand to pick sweet, young coconuts and to deliver delicious, all natural coconut “juice.” The coconut juice (a/k/a coconut water) is all natural, non-GMO and is filled with electrolytes like potassium, magnesium and calcium. It also has no added sugar or preservatives and is naturally sweet. It is flash pasteurized for safety, but keeps its flavor and nutritional value. They recently refreshed their look, logo and label. Their motto is “be better.” That’s an aspiration I can get behind!

I tried Amy & Brian’s Coconut Water at Expo West. I tried Original with Pulp and enjoyed it. It has nice little chunks of coconut in it. After seeing my Expo West coverage, they reached out to see if I wanted to try more of their coconut water and offer a giveaway. They did not have to twist my arm! Amy & Brian’s Coconut Water comes in five varieties: Original, Original with Pulp, Grape, Cinnamon and Lime. I tried the Original, Grape and Cinnamon. If you have ever had a young coconut on a beach in a tropical vacation, the Original may give you a happy flashback! I like them all but the Cinnamon is my favorite by far. The 17 oz can comes in at just over 100 calories which is great for the nutritional punch that it carries. Coconut water is great for post run/post workout hydration. I am really excited to have these around as the temperature rises!

I like to drink A & B Coconut Water straight, but they have some recipes and great suggestions. One tip that I love is to make coconut water ice cubes for your cocktails. That’s ingenious! They have simple recipes for smoothies, too. Nicole from Fitful Focus also made a delicious Paleo Coconut Green Smoothie with her Amy and Brian’s Original Coconut Water and Cali-Girl Cooking made a Recovery Smoothie with Cinnamon. They even have a great mojito recipe!

I'm going to try A & B Cinnamon Coconut Water in my next smoothie instead of almond milk!
