Friday Five: MORE Foods Finds I’m Excited to Share

It’s Friday, so I am linking up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run for their weekly linkup. Each week they pick a theme and bloggers join in and link up. This year instead of specific themes, they are letting us be creative with broad themes for each week of the month. This is the second “Favorites” themed week. I am excited to preview five new (to me) food finds that I will be reviewing in the next few weeks. (I missed food last week because I was ruminating about running in the heat!) They are bound to become some of my new faves. Stay tuned, there will be some giveaways in the next few weeks!

Bottom right – my mushroom tea!

1. Chaga Mushroom Chunks by Zen Mushroom for Tea/Broth – A few weeks ago, I went to Bunny “the microbakery” in my neighborhood. What is a microbakery? It is a very small bakery. (It is actually not that small but that is a story for another day.) Anyway, they have a mushroom tea that is AMAZING. I just loved it. But it is $2 for a very small cup. When I had the opportunity through Tomoson to try Chaga Mushroom Chunks by Zen Mushroom to make my own, I said “YES.” I am going to brew some this weekend, so I will let you know how it compares. Stay tuned and in the mean time, you can check out these 100% wild-harvested mushroom chunks on Amazon. [UPDATE: The Chaga Mushroom tea is delicious. It doesn’t taste like mushrooms (or the mushroom tea from Bunny – womp womp!) and I added some monkfruit sweetener and it tastes like a lovely tea.]

2. Bubba’s Fine Foods Original Snack Mix – I tried Bubba’s Fine Foods’ Original Snack Mix in my Paleo Krate and from Barefoot Provisions and I was hooked! I emailed and they offered to send me all of the flavors of snack mix and their three “Ungranola”s to try. Great news, when I do the full review, they will send the same sweet package to one lucky reader! In the mean time, you can find Bubba’s Fine Foods on the web, on Amazon and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

3. Good Day Chocolate – I got a Good Day Chocolate with Calm in a subscription box (which one!?!) and decided to try it. It was delicious so I checked out the company and found that they have Chocolate with Sleep and Chocolate with Calm, too! I wrote to them and they sent me samples of all of them. I will do a full review and will share one of each with one lucky reader. In the mean time, I will tell you about a little more. Good Day Chocolate hand selects all natural, non-gmo, and gluten free pharmaceutical grade nutraceuticals and mixes them with premium dark and milk chocolate combinations so you get a natural and “easily controllable” treat. They create responsible serving sizes with keys on the super cute boxes. I will have the full review and giveaway soon. In the mean time, you can check them out on the web, Amazon and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The dark chocolate caramel coconut butter cups are my newest obsession!

4. eatingEvolved Primal Chocolate Coconut Butter Cups – I got an amazing Barefoot Primal Goodie Kit from Barefoot Provisions. One of the “goodies” was a package of Dark Chocolate Caramel Coconut Butter Cups from Eating Evolved. I have been looking for healthier treats and these fit the bill. These are so rich and delicious that I am satisfied with one of the two pack and that almost never happens. Of course, I bought a variety pack of the coconut butter cups and two of their chocolate bars. They say “Chocolate: It’s Food. Not Candy.” How? All eatingEVOLVED chocolate is free of gluten, dairy, or soy (or soy lecithin). They use “the fewest ingredients physically possible” to create chocolate – no junk, no fillers, just the highest quality, Fair-Trade cacao lightly sweetened with organic maple sugar. It is super clean and hand crafted. You can get it on the web or on Amazon. You can also follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

New Look and 25% Less Sugar

5. Luna Lemon Zest Bars – New Look + 25% less Sugar – My friends from Clif Bar let me know that they were unveiling a new look for Luna Bars AND were making Lemon Zest (and other flavors) with 25% less sugar! They are still gluten free, have 9g of protein, are non-GMO and are made with gluten free oats. I am sharing the love and giving 3 winners two bars each on Instagram through 2/26. I love the new look and will report back soon on the new low sugar flavor, too!

It is amazing how many MORE awesome new healthy products that there are out there! I can’t wait to try them all!

Which of these sounds best to you? Have you found any new healthy products I should be on the look out for? Please tell me about them in the comments!
