Tried It Tuesday: Feel Good Food From Hungryroot!

JREFYyYZI mentioned a few weeks ago that I am officially obsessed with Hungryroot. Hungryroot meals are all natural, locally-sourced, non-GMO, gluten-free and under 500 calories. These fresh, fully prepped meals are packed with fresh veggie noodles, delicious homemade sauces, roasted toppings and (optional) proteins. You just saute and stir for a “chef-designed” meal in only 7 minutes. If you are lazy like me, you can also cook these meals in less than 5 minutes in the microwave. This is the perfect solution for healthy, WFH lunches.

I’ve ordered twice three times from Hungryroot and have tried 8 different entrees, two sides and two desserts. The noodles are packed in a container that can be microwaved and each sauce and add in is packaged separately so that everything stays fresh and crisp. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. As I mentioned, you can saute or microwave all of the meals and sides.

Daikon Noodles with Korean Scallion Gochujang, Rutabaga Noodles with Roasted Mushroom Pistou and Beet Noodles with Savory Almond Sesame

I’ve tried all of the veggie noodle varieties. They have daikon noodles, turnip noodles, carrot noodles, beet noodles, bonaito noodles, rutabega noodles and celery root noodles. The sauces are varied and delicious. Some are spicy, some are creamy and some are tangy. I am having trouble picking favorites but if I must, I would say that the Turnip Noodles with Toasted Walnut Pesto and the Sweet Potato Noodles with Creamy Cashew Alfredo are must try. The husband liked the daikon noodles as a side, too! All of the mains can pair with a protein. So far, I have only tried the veggie noodles or with added chicken. They also have tofu and falafel as options.

For sides, I tried the Cauliflower Cous Cous and the Root Vegetable Risotto. The latter is a must try! I also tried the Almond Chickpea Cookie Dough (raw of course because I never bake) and the Coconut Carrot Cake Bites. The carrot cake bites come with “cream cheese” frosting. It is non-dairy. They are SO delicious. Really!
