Friday Finds: 5 Things Five Years From Now

It’s Friday, so I am linking up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run for their weekly linkup. Each Friday, they host a link up — a “Friday Five.” This week’s five is a bit of a challenge for me. The topic is “Five Things Five Years From Now.” I did a lot better with “Five Things I Was Doing 10 Year Ago.” I have never been great at predicting the future or even planning for the future. So here goes nothing…

5 Things Five years from now…

1. I will be 48 – yikes. This is something that I can predict accurately. I hope that I will continue to garner some age group awards! Otherwise, that is perilously close to 50, so I am done writing about that.

2. I hope to continue to be happily married. The Husband and I will be coming up on our 18th anniversary at that time. Our marriage will almost be able to vote. At his grandparents’ 65th anniversary, we joked that their marriage should get Social Security, so… that is the best I can do. I hope we will continue to have fun, travel the world and enjoy each other and our lives together.

3. I hope to still be running and funning. If I continue to run two marathons a year, I will be at or above 50 marathons, so that is something! I plan to continue running as long as physically (and mentally) possible. I hope that I will be kicking butt and taking names, but if not, I hope to be enjoying my running relationships and continuing to have lots of fun with running.

4. I will continue to expand my network and connecting people. I am not sure where we will be living (I did not expect to have stayed here in Chicago for 9 years) but I will likely be meeting and greeting folks wherever we are. My friend Kelly likes to call it “star collecting.” I take great pleasure in meeting people and helping them connect to others with similar personal and professional interests. I doubt that will ever change.

5. I will be looking for a great deal and new things. Some things never change. I have been looking for great deals and new things since as long as I can remember. I don’t plan to stop any time soon. I am not sure if I will still be blogging, or if blogging will still be a thing, but I hope to still be spreading the love and news in whatever way I can. I also love writing so I hope I will be doing that in some form or another.

How are you powers of prognostication? What do you think you will be up to in 5 years?

Have a great weekend!
