I love when a friend recommends a great product to me – especially when it is delicious and nutritious! Running pal, Jamie, introduced me to Melissa and Super Pop! Protein Nut Butter Bars. Melissa, an LA mom started Super Pop! in Los Angeles with a healthy popcorn business. She then started making popcorn based healthy snack bars. She later switched popcorn to puffed quinoa and voila – delicious and nutritious Super Pop! Protein Nut Butter bars.
The quinoa and nut butter bars are 100% all natural. They are gluten free, dairy free, soy free and contain no refined sugar or GMOs. They use organic quinoa and pack the bars with superfoods. They are dense with nutrition and will fill you up! Each bar has 9 grams of protein and no chalky aftertaste like some protein bars.
The Protein Nut Butter Bars come in a four flavors:
- Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter – A classic combination. They combine puffed quinoa, peanut butter and dark chocolate to make an this bar.
- Dark Chocolate Almond – This bar is packed with puffed quinoa, almond butter, superfoods and topped off with chocolate.
- Blueberry Almond Butter Bar – They combine puffed quinoa, almond butter and blueberries to make a delicious and slightly sweet bar.
- Peanut Butter & Honey Bar – This bar has puffed quinoa, peanut butter & honey. Simple and delicious!
I was sent Dark Chocolate Almond, Blueberry Almond and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter to try. The bars are pretty dense from the almond butter but also have a light crunch from the puffed quinoa. They are sweet but not too sweet. It is hard to pick a favorite but if you twist my arm, I will say Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter with Blueberry Almond as a close second. The bars are also surprisingly filling. I was impressed with how they stack up against the competition. See the comparison chart here. There are no sugar alcohols (my stomach thanks them for this) and no chalky after taste. Since they are in LA, they have some fun celebrity fans, too!
