Let Me “Show” You My Soup – Ribollita

It is winter and nothing says winter to me more than soup. So when Artizone Chicago asked me to check out their “Show Us Your Soup!” contest, I was all in. Basically, they said, “Whip up a soup, share it with us and you could be on your way to be a food artisan for a week with Karl’s Craft Soup”.  Now, you may know that I am not the world’s finest cook, but I can follow a recipe – especially if it is a one pot recipe. That must be why I like making soup – you can’t mess it up!

Have you tried Artizone? The deliver local artisanal foods from 100s of vendors right to your door. Currently Artizone delivers in Chicago and Dallas and it is coming soon to Austin and Denver. Many of my local faves are on Artizone including Simple Squares, Cooked, Factor 75, Good Hope Rusks, Kishr, Mama’s Nuts, Spice House, The Farinata Project, Two-Fold,  Zemas Madhouse Foods and more. See the full list HERE.

Here is the deal for Show Us Your Soup:

“Submit a simple soup recipe + photo to our page. Soups can be whatever flavor and theme you like — we just have to be able to cook it up easily from home! Then get your friends and family to vote on your soup!

The THREE soups with the most votes get entered into a judging round by Karl Bader of Karl’s Soup. Of the top three, ONE soup will be chosen by Karl to be made in his kitchen and sold on artizone.com. Plus, the winner will get $100 credit to artizone.com!

Get your chance to have your original creation sold on artizone.com just like a real food artisan!”

The soup:

Ribollita

OK – in the spirit of full disclosure, this is not my recipe. I only made a few small modifications to Food 52 contributor La Domestique’s recipe. I added Parmesan cheese, so that is something. It is OK if I get disqualified. It was still fun and tasty! I made it for my book club and it was a big hit. If you have gluten free needs, skip the bread. It is still a delicious and filling soup.

See, I did make it! Without the bread, this is a great, filling gluten free soup.
