Friday Finds: Get Organized in 2015 + Then Go Shopping!

Finds’ friend, fave pilates instructor and wellness coach, Maureen is getting her stuff together in 2015. Lucky for us, she gave me permission to share some great tools that she has introduced on her blog and newsletter (sign up HERE.)

PKT_Twitter_Avatar_v1_400x400Pocket:  Maureen says, “There is so much amazing content and information out there that it can feel overwhelming. I love to learn new things but also know that I only want to spend so much time devoted to that each day.  Pocket is a great way to save articles, videos and more for later. You can use it for my posts 🙂 ” I added the app to my phone and the bookmark button to my browser. This is going to be an awesome way to organize all of the amazing content I find every day for my blog. My current method works, but I definitely misplace things. And, I do love pockets!

TIT71OZq_400x400Then, Maureen says, “I even use IFTTT (if this, then that…) to recognize when I save something to my pocket to automatically send it to my ToDoist. This helps me spread out my readings and ensures that I return to the article.” [Side note: I need some help from Maureen with this program. I am a wee bit confused but am excited that I can copy Maureen’s “recipe” for Pocket to Todoist! IFTTT is very cool. It is also very different than other programs I have seen (and is another one that leads me to ask, “How do they make money on this??”)]

Y9mnhYd5_400x400What is Todoist? – She says, “This has quickly become my favorite To Do list app/program.  I find that it helps me take a balanced approach to my planning and it makes completing tasks fun! I love that you earn points when you get things done.  It’s been a great tool to help me use my time wisely.”
I created an account and I need to create a master to-do list for work, life and blog. If I can get this organized, I think I am going to be soooo much more productive. Watch out world.

Thank you, Maureen!

Maureen also recommends this read – which I need to read STAT! SHED Your Stuff, Change Your Life: “This book by Julie Morgenstern is one of my favorites for helping to clear space in your life for what truly matters.  January is a great time to spend some time on this!” There is still a bit of time in January… and any time is a good time for positive changes.

I downloaded these apps so that I can join Maureen in getting more organized in 2015. Who is with me? Have you tried any tools like this? Please recommend any good ones in the comments!
