A Quick Visit to the Emerald City

The husband and I won a two night stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle in last year’s Passports with Purpose raffle supporting BuildOn. Thanks to Katie at La Jolla Mom for scoring this amazing prize! This is our second winner’s trip! Last year we visited Jicaro Lodge in Nicaragua (recap). I will remind you in November but this year’s PwP travel blogger raffle supports Sustainable Harvest International and will run from December 1-December 17. There are sure to be more awesome prizes!

As far as this win, this is the real deal people! The Four Seasons is no joke. Our certificate came with a delicious breakfast at Art in the hotel, too. The fitness center and pool bar have an amazing view. Oh, and our room is lovely.

This weekend has been a great change of pace for us and we were able to catch up with a bunch of great, old friends here in the PNW, too. The husband and I have both been so busy lately that we have not had much one on one time. This trip is just what the doctor ordered to “recharge our batteries” in a fresh place.

IMG_1423.JPGThe husband has not spent much time in Seattle and I have never been here before. The weather has been AMAZING (sorry Chicago friends!) and I love how walkable the city is. Being near the water and mountains definitely lifts the spirits, too. We enjoyed great coffee, great food/seafood and great company. Our hotel is near Pike’s Market and it was a nice walk to the Space Needle. We loved the views from there and taking the “futuristic” monorail afterwards. We wandered around Pioneer’s Square and learned some Seattle history, too. I am looking forward to one last day of touring and eating, seeing more friends… And a little running, too.
