learn twitter@superstate (Learn Like a Superhero/Think Like a Super Villain) followed me on TwitterYou know that I was very intrigued. I went over to the website right away. The tagline is “super charge the way you live your life.” Yes, please.

They ask, “What would it mean to you to be able to read faster, learn more and remember for longer? How much effort do you think it would take to become a Super Learner?” They say that, “Accelerated Learning is a collection of proven and established approaches built upon the individual. It does not matter when the last time you actively learned anything was whether last week or 40 years ago. Accelerated Learning can give you the ability to learn anything rapidly and what’s important you will actually remember and be able to use your new knowledge.”

Learning is one part. The second part is “Think Like a Supervillain.” (Cue maniacal laughter!) Next question, “Have you ever wondered how people create such fantastic inventions? Do you want to become more creative, write a book, paint a portrait make music?” They say, “Creative thinking shows you some incredible activities that can be completed in a matter of minutes which can give you some incredible creative ideas. Following in the footsteps of genuine creative genius. Is now the time for you to achieve our creative potential.”

The last part (and my favorite) is “Super Motivation and Happiness.” The question, “Are you where you want to be, living the life that you really want? Are you searching for something to make you happier? Do you know what is standing in the way of success and happiness?” The answer, “Taking a superhero approach to motivation and happiness takes you through a complete 7 step journey to change your perception of happiness and establish effective motivational activities. Take a moment and just think where would you like to be in a years time Learn Like a Super Hero could be the training you need to achieve your dreams.”

Want to participate in a fun event and do good at the same time?  Check out these two great upcoming events:

heelsNew Finds’ friend, Tim Fealy from Hometown Happenings asked me to share this one. Grab a friend and your favorite pair of heels and join Hometown Happenings for the “Walk a Mile in Her Heels.” The event is being held on Saturday, August 9th at 4 pm at Carriage Court Pizza, 211 S. East St. in Crown Point, IN. The walk is also being used to bring attention to ending the 5 year statute of limitations on sexual assault in Indiana. Over 3,000 signatures have been gathered so far. Read this great post on why this issue matters to Hometown Happenings.

The event consists of a 1 mile walk through historic downtown Crown Point. Pre-registration cost is $15 if you wear heels and $18 if you wear comfortable shoes. Cost is $25 on event day. Participants in the walk will vote for a local women’s charity with the top vote getters sharing in the proceeds. Find a golden shoe hidden along the route and in participating stores and win a wrap bracelet from D2E Gallery. Participants are also invited to bring a decorated shoe that will be auctioned off with auction proceeds also benefiting local women’s charities. After the walk, you can enjoy light snacks from Smokey’s Basement BBQ and live music.

storm stadiumNext up, Chicago’s longest open-air stair climb, Storm the Stadium, is scheduled for Saturday, September 6 at the U.S. Cellular Field. Storm the Stadium brings a new twist to stair climbs. It is one of the USA’s longest consecutive stair challenges, challenging participants to scale up and down a total of 6,000 steps–That’s almost triple that of the Willis Tower! Challengers will climb while music plays throughout the stadium at the White Sox baseball field. If you don’t think you can complete the full climb, have no fear, a “half climb” option is also available!

Like to be philanthropic in your running pursuits? The Charity Partner Program benefits the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics and Big Brothers Big Sisters Chicago.

The climb is $55. Take $10 off registration if you register online by Aug. 9 with code is RB10.
