Still disappointed? Don’t be! I have another awesome energy product review and give away for this week! I saw that I missed a sample of Perky Jerky from Klutch Club and I was so curious about it. Of course, I checked out their website and contacted them. They agreed to send me out some samples to try and offered a lucky reader a give away, too (so keep reading!)
In addition to having a super tasty, healthy product the folks at Perky Jerky are fun! A day or two after I emailed them, I got this package from their head of Social “MEATia”:
This was accompanied by a very amusing letter and samples of both the turkey and beef jerky. I love the fact that the “ultra premium” jerky is high in protein, low in fat and each serving has less than 100 calories. It has no nitrates or preservatives and no MSG. It contains seven all natural ingredients. What makes it perky? Guarana. That also keeps ot tender and adds to the flavor. The letter went on to explain that their story “like most good stories – begins with two Jerks in a ski lodge.” Apparently an energy drink accidentally mixed with some beef jerky. This accident led to the happy realization that the jerky was more tender and had an extra boost and voila “Perky Jerky” was born.
I received my samples and ripped open the turkey package. It was so tender and a bit sweet from the guarana. The package contains 1 oz (2 servings). At 90 calories per serving, the 1 oz bag made a perfect snack. Good thing, because I literally gobbled it all up in a few minutes. The protein left me satiated and I felt pretty energetic. A bit of a disclaimer: I had this in the late morning after a VERY large coffee. But, I do have a large coffee every day! I loved how tender it was and the slighly sweet taste.
I tried the beef jerky with my breakfast yesterday. The added protein kept me full all morning – no snacks! I liked the teriyaki flavor, too, and this one was also super tender. I will say, I am a fan of jerky in general and this is some of the best, most tender that I have tried.
They bill it as “a nutritious, high protein snack for active lifestyles” and I have to agree. I can easily see taking this on a hike or having as a morning snack when I am doing an afternoon workout.
