Cash Back for Active Junkies, Insider Restaurant Tips & Deals!

I just learned about Active Junky. It is like ebates for athletes and active folks! How does it work?

How Active Junky works!

Active Junky is an online shopping community that rewards and provides incentives (sales AND cash back!) for shoppers pursuing their passion for active gear. They have partnered with the top online outdoor gear stores (100+) so that you can earn cash back rewards on every gear purchase you make by simply clicking through Active Junky to the online store of your choice before making your purchases. You can also browse, search and compare prices and reviews on all of the best outdoor gear products available on their blog – “The Fix”.

What’s the catch? There is none. They get a commission from the stores when you make a purchase and they share it with us. A win-win!  Joining Active Junky is free. They will send you a check or transfer the rebate money right into your PayPal account. Also if you refer your friends, you get $5 for each friend who joins and make a purchase.

What are you waiting for? Check it out! Screen Shot 2013-01-16 at 8.28.49 PMPureWow reminds us that, “Nobody knows the culinary world quite like people in culinary world.” That’s why I like restaurant recommendations from legit foodies like my brother. It is also why I wish I knew chefs in more cities. Well, now I do. Sort of! Check out Find. Eat. Drink. This site launched last year as an “online repository for under-the-radar dining recommendations from industry insiders like Wolfgang Puck’s go-to L.A. seafood market or Top Chef winner Dale Talde’s pick for New York yakitori.”

Screen Shot 2013-05-27 at 3.05.16 PMThey even have a free iPhone app that offers even more useful on-the-go recommendations. After downloading the app, you choose a location (cities range from Tuscaloosa to Madrid, with more being added) and select what you are looking for (restaurants, bars, markets, etc.). F.E.D. then pulls up a list of recommendations from big-name chefs and highly respected bakers, bartenders and restaurateurs. You can also filter by neighborhood and price and tap for specific ordering suggestions (love that!).

I love the .pdf guides, too! I checked out Chicago and NYC and both have great places that I love (or want to try). I can’t wait to try one of these in the next new city I visit.
