logo (1)cristine_img10Christine Fikany is a holistic health coach in Chicago who inspires women to be healthy and happy regardless of the hustle and bustle of every day life. She believes that every woman can – and should – live life to its absolute fullest. After working in the corporate world at the job she thought she wanted, she switched gears and went back to school to study health & nutrition and create a life full of health, passion and purpose. She now focuses on doing one-on-one health consultations with her clients, is the health and wellness expert at her local health club and shares recipes, health tips and advice as often as she can.

Christine is the author of “Healthy Little Secrets” which provides a nutritional road-map to help clients to develop a better relationship with food. Her aim is to improve the quality of life and well-being of her clients by integrating and balancing healthy practices with whole foods. She is also the creator of the 14 day and 28 day Glow Online Nutrition Programs. Originally from Michigan, she lives in Chicago, IL with her fiance and puppy. Her 14 Day Program is a good choice for anyone in need of a push and a step-by-step method to getting back on track to leading a healthier lifestyle. The program teaches steps to cutting cravings, choosing the healthiest, best tasting, foods and recipes that fill you up and make you feel great. Plus, she provides an in depth analysis of your health needs and a suggested lifestyle program to fit your health profile.

I met Christine last summer at one of Amanda Skrip’s classes before she launched her business. We had a great chat that day and stayed in touch. After I checked out her website, I asked her to share some of her insights about starting her business on my blog. This is what she had to say:

EA: What was the “last straw” that led you to leave the corporate world?
CF: I was sick of working a 9-5 job, I loved the people I worked with but wanted something to call my own. I wanted to be able to work on my terms on things I am passionate about.

EA: What is the best thing about working for yourself? What (if any) thing do you miss the most about your corporate life?
CF: There is not one thing I miss about the corporate world. I was given so many tools and resources while attending the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to the point where I was able to do anything I wanted with my business. [Note: if you click the IIN link above, you can get a free digital copy of “Integrative Nutrition: Feed Your Hunger for Health & Happiness.”]

I found Enlightened Living International after graduation where things really started to come together for me. Their mission has stood true today, “to teach, promote and inspire increased health and wealth through the highest quality products, training and community available today. We bridge the gap between true health and true wealth, and believe it’s possible for all people to achieve an abundant residual income through our purposed-fueled business model. We believe in living passionately and by design, and that each person can create their ideal life while changing the world for the better.”

I am so fortunate to have become a part of such a wonder team! And I can work from anywhere!!

EA: If there was one healthy change you could tell someone to make that would have the biggest impact, what would it be?
CF: “When FOOD changes, EVERYTHING changes.”

EA: What is the biggest mistake you see people making with food and health?
CF: The biggest mistake I see people making is when they deny their favorite foods or dictate a strict regimen that is hard to keep and destined to fail. They don’t need to!!!!
