“Social Shopping” – What do you Think? Sneakpeeq and The Fancy

Just what I need! Another couple of deal sites to check out and share!

Recently, I heard about two new (to me and I think fairly new in general) shopping/deal sites that use the concepts from Pinterest in concert with Facebook and/or Twitter to promote products and companies. They also have some “gamification” like some apps where looking at items “unlocks” badges and deals. I never played Farmville but I think that is similar (??). Anyway, I found one site simple to use and as soon as I turned off the notifications and posts to FB, I think I dig it. The second site is a bit slicker and harder to figure out (and has less every day things that I would be looking for.) “Social” shopping seems like it would be right up my alley, but frankly I am not so sure I need this hobby 😉Take a look and see what you think.

I saw a deal on Facebook for Wild Squirrel peanut butter – have you tried it? It’s DELICIOUS (don’t trust me? Ask Amy and Nate!) It was on a new site called Sneakpeeq. They have deals on products from a variety of vendors for food, home, beauty and style. They give you $10 for signing up and then additional discounts for “peeqing”(looking at things) and sharing. It is kind of like opensky without the curators (and with better prices – I think.) Check it out! I will share good deals when I see them!

I read about The Fancy. It is like Pinterest with deals. It is similar to Sneakpeeq (instead of “peeq”ing, you “fancy” to see prices and “unlock” deals. The items on this site are higher end and higher style. I doubt this one is for me — too complicated and potentially a huge time suck. Who knows? You it might be just what you are looking for.

What do you think? Interesting? Too complicated? Too many sites? Another new hobby that you don’t have time for?
